When should you seek help?

 

· When your animal appears ill or you are worried about its general condition.

· For routine matters such as vaccinations, worming, spaying and neutering.

· For emergencies, e.g., when your pet has been injured or has collapsed.

· For advice when considering buying or rescuing a new pet particularly if you are an inexperienced owner.

 

 

 

Symptoms that should be investigated:

 

Loss of appetite

Tiredness or reluctance to exercise normally

Vomiting or diarrhoea

Excessive drinking/urinating (urine sample if possible, please)

Straining while urinating or defecating

Swellings or lumps

Weight loss or gain (regular weighing is recommended)

Scratching or licking excessively

Skin or ears red or inflamed

Coughing or breathing difficulty

Halitosis or other unpleasant odour

Lameness or change of gait

Unusual discharge from nose, eyes, etc.

Abnormal behaviour

Unexplained bleeding
